Show METE PRODUCERS MILL STARTS WORK NEXT MONDAY The Metal Producers Mill, three miles west of Milford, will resume operations on a two-shift-a-day basis Monday, June 5th. The mill has been closed since the early fall of 1949, when steadily sinking metal prices and influx of foreign metals made operation opera-tion of the mill unprofitable. A new ball mill, new smaller crusher and other machinery has been added to the mill equipment fc enable the handling hand-ling of additional types of ore. Monday the Metal Producers will begin milling ore from the O K Mine, which will be mined open-pit from the surface by the Metal Producers crews, and O K crews will augment the ore supply with underground mining. min-ing. About 20 men will be employed em-ployed at the mill, with 16 additional ad-ditional Metal Producers employes em-ployes at the mine. Ten men will work underground ' at the mine. A test run will be made at the mill Friday, Any "bugs" which develop will be eliminated Saturday, Sat-urday, and full production will begin Monday. The mill will be operated by electricity furnished fur-nished by a new power line recently completed to the mill by Telluride Power Company. |
