Show TIGERS WIN OVER CEDAR CITY QUINT The Milford High Tigers continued their winning ways and dumped Cedar City last Friday, 39 to 33. Crane, with 12 points, and Turner and Stoker, marking up 9 each, lead in the scoring column, but were closely pushed by Herb Coon with 3 baskets and a free throw for 7 counters. Crane make the first score when he tossed in a free throw after 2V4 minutes of play, and a moment later intercepted the ball at mid-court and dribbled down for a basket. Cedar got one field goal and a free throw in the first quarter, with Crane sinking another for the Tigers, Coon getting a free throw and a basket, and Stoker sinking two baskets to give the Tigers an 11-3 lead at the end of the first period. Starting the second quarter, the local lads kept right at it. Turner got the tip from center and dribbled in for a basket. Crane got a tip-in, Stoker sank two free throws, and Crane sank another after a pass-in from Stoker. Cedar sank three field goals and three free throws to bring the score to 19-12 at half time. That was about the story of the ball game all the way. The Tigers are improving their floor work, although their passing is "spotty" and they frequently pass the ball directly to an opponent op-ponent or out-of-bounds. They look better with each game. |
