Many parents were in attendance for these fine talks that gave so much to the listeners. The theme of the week was "Democracy at Work." The first speaker of the week was Dr. Joseph H. Symons from the Ufah State Agricultural College at Logan. He spoke on Monday and again on Tuesday. Mondav's title was "The Worth of the IndH vidual" Just how much are YOU worth? The average person per-son from a chemical standpoint is worth $1.27. No one today realizes what really determines human worth. Good heredity, good environment, proper motivation, moti-vation, the country in which you live, and the amount of education educa-tion you have makes up the worth of an individual. No one should waste their life away. They should work hard to keep America free. On Tuesday, "Responsibe Citizenship" Cit-izenship" was the topic for discussion. dis-cussion. Dr. Symons began with I the statement that life is becoming be-coming more complex, therefore - : affairs. Our American democracy democ-racy is next to the Kingdom of God. Thursday brought us Dr. Driggs from the Branch Agri-1 cultural College at Cedar City. He spoke on "The Next Decade of Education." The roots of American education have been started many years ago, now it is up to this generation and the generation after this to carry out the designed ideals and customs cus-toms for good living. On the next ten years, Americans must dream and make these dreams come into reality in order to keep the standards of American education alive. Representative Walter K. Granger was our last speaker of the week. It being Armistice Day, , Representative Granger stressed the fact that liberty, freedom and justice are not only words in a dictionary but actual workings of the people. Facts should be made plain that the people make the rules and regulations regu-lations of the government. WE the people wrote the Constitution Constitu-tion of the United States and we govern from its contents. Mrs. E. L. Smith, Mrs. Beth Leffingwell, John Williams, Mrs. Holm's English classes, and a girls' double trio, Darlene Nay, Lois Fowles, Dorothy Fisher, Fish-er, Bonnie Baxter, Florence Openshaw and Betty Hickman, should be congratulated for their fine entertainment during this week. good citizenship is necessary. One can work toward responsible respon-sible citizenship by being careful care-ful of your behavior. Each one has his job to do to gain national unity with a good democratic government. Carlyle Gronning was the speaker on Wednesday, his theme being "Home and Com-'munity Com-'munity Responsibility." Everyone's Every-one's beginning of life and creating cre-ating of ideals starts in the home. A very important feature fea-ture of the home is marriage.' In marriage is formed the basis of American democracy. One can raise the standards of living liv-ing 100 by the quotation "Live and HELP Live." Each person should help another out.
