Show Of Interest to Women THE LADY FIREMEN held their monthly social Friday evening. eve-ning. July 1. Prizes were won by Lorelei Dawson, Mary Nickles arid Norma Edwards, at j pinochle, and at bridge by Roma ; Carlton, Christie Lyman and j Maude Mills. At midnight a salad course and j coffee were served by the com-. mittee, Lucille Raines, Magda-1 lena White, Ann Bird, Audrey j Skillicorn and Mary Raines. ELMER BARNES, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Barnes, celebrated celebrat-ed his ninth birth anniversary on June 30th, by having a glorious glor-ious time with his friends at Ranch Canyon. Weiners and marshmallows were roasted. Many nice gifts were presented present-ed to Elmer by Ned Kohler, Connie and Kay Labrum, Len-nette Len-nette Bracken, Jarvis Scott, Jerry Murdock,' Margaret Turner, Tur-ner, Harriet Cline, Arden Fowles, Joyce Workman, Sandra Johnson and Joan Barnes. A trailer ride was enjoyed to the canyon and back. 5; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Garfield and daughter Carol Jean were visitors in Salt Lake this week. A SPECIAL EVENT for little Cherrie Voorhees, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Voorhees, was Friday, July 1st, when she celebrated her fourth birth anniversary an-niversary with the following friends: Marlyn Tattersall and Karen and Richard Lowe of Eeaver, Sherie and Christine Lish, Sue Ann and Karen Thompson, Connie Holbrook, Joyce and Jay Workman, Jorja Voorhees, Sheryl Christensen, and Judy Jefferson. Following an afternoon of games a luncheon, including birthday cake, was served to the little guests. - A DINNER PARTY was hfeld at the home of Nelda Memmott Saturday evening, July 2nd by the Junior Old Timers. Monte Carlo Whist was played after dinner, with prizes being won by Mrs. Clark Goodwin, Mrs. Tommie Williams, Mrs. Max Bracken. A very enjoyable evening was had by all, and the dfnner party will be a monthly affair for the Junior Old Timers. Election of officers will be held at the next meeting, and the theme for the year's activities activi-ties will be "Good Times to Remember." Re-member." The comimttee in charge of Saturday's delightful party was Mrs. Neida Memmott, president; Mrs. Ina Norton, Mrs. Jerry Memmott, Mrs. Jean Hickman Hick-man and Mrs. Evelyn Brannon, historian. HONORED at a Mexican dinner din-ner Saturday evening were Newleyweds Mr. and Mrs. William Wil-liam Guenther. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Mayer were hosts and Mrs. Mayer, noted for her Mexican dishes, prepared and served the delicious meal to Mr. and Mrs. Guenther, Mr. Mayer and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schramm. I LEAVING TO make their home in San Luis Obispo, Calif., following a June wedding, were Mr. and Mrs. William Wayne Guenther. The wedding took place in thei presence of close friends Wednesday, Wed-nesday, June 30th, in Cedar City. Mrs. Guenther is the former Donna Denny, attractive daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Denny. Mr. Guenther is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Guenther of San Luis Obispo. |
