Show FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION WAS FUN FOR KIDS AND GROWNUPS Hundreds of youngsters jammed jam-med Library Park Monday, July 4th, to participate in the contests and races and games, and hundreds hun-dreds of oldsters lined the race course to watch the kids compete com-pete for nickels and quarter pete for nickels and quarters and lollipops and popcorn. With Coach Perry Neal as starter, Vance Fisher as announcer an-nouncer and Al Kirk as "payoff" man, regulation and comedy and handicap races were run off for all ages from toddlers who could hardly manage to reach the finish fin-ish line up to 18-year-olders who competed in special events such as sack races and three-legged races. A special free show was presented pre-sented in the afternoon at the Firmage Theater, featuring comedies, com-edies, cartoons and a full-length Dagwood and Blondie feature. Following the free show, Vance set up his loud speaker in the Legion pavilion; and the kids danced till time to go home for supper, tired, excited ' and happy, after one of the finest, most entertaining Fourth of July celebrations the Milford youngsters have enjoyed. |
