Show 38 RECEIVE DIPLOMAS AT MILFORD HIGH Thirty-eight Milford High students received their diplomas at last Thursday's commencement commence-ment exercises in the High School auditorium. Parley B. Fisher, member of the Beaver County Board of Education, handed each graduate his diploma dip-loma as the students were presented pre-sented by Principal Richard Nelson. Theme of the graduation, "I'm Sitting on Top of the World," was s'ng at the exercises by a double duet consisting of Barbara Bar-bara Walker, Georgia Bardtrief, Lorraine Lofthouse and Betty Firmage. Kent Myers was valedictorian, vale-dictorian, Frank Lewis, caluta-torian, caluta-torian, Shirley Smith, essayist, and Sharral Stott gave the citizenship citi-zenship ' address. Mrs. Vena Wilson, 63-year-old graduate, gave the invocation, and Robert Baker the benediction. Others on the .program were Mrs. M. B. Leffingwell, Lucile Smith, Jerrold Spainhower, and Alan Appleton. Three service men, Grant Wood and LaVere Carter, of the U. S. Navy, and John Wesley Oliver, of the Army Air Forces, were in Milford on furlough to receive their diplomas, and Mrs. Hazel Hillman was presented the diploma of Leonard Hillman, who completed his high school work after enlisting in the Air Dorothy Baudino Hoopes and Norma Jean Grimshaw, who have not attended regular classes this past year but had completed the required work, also received their diplomas. |
