Show George O. Boucher, M.D., son of Mr, and Mrs. V. L. Boucher of Milford, recently was elected secretary-treasurer of the Long Beach (Calif.) Children's Clinic, a Red Feather Service of the Long Beach Community Chest. George is chief pediatrician at St. Mary's Hospital . in Long Beach, and also is on the staff of two other hospitals, the Community Com-munity and Seaside. John P. Lowe, general superintendent super-intendent for Metal Producers' operations at the Horn Silver mine, arrived in Milford Wednesday Wednes-day evening, after being "snowed in' 'at the mine for a couple of weeks. Expecting to return to the mine Thursday morning, Jack found himself "snowed out" and will have to live on steaks, instead of beans, until the road to the mine is reopened. Eloise Force and small son of Modena, Calif., are here, visiting with her friends, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Miller. Pfc. Ray Lund, after finishing his basic training at San Antonio, is enjoying a furlough at home visiting relatives and old friends. Ray will report to Hamilton Air Force Base, at San Rafael, Calif., for assignment to the Far East Air Command upon completion of his furlough. Father J. H. Valine, O. P. priest in charge Nof St. Bridget's Catholic church, returned from Salt Lake last week, where he underwent an abdonimal operation opera-tion at the Holy Cross Hospital. Father Valine is "feeling fine" and has resumed his duties in this parish. The parishioners, as well as the townspeople, are very happy to have him back at his duties. Father Valine is very inter-estedin inter-estedin the Youth Movement outlined out-lined by the Catholic Church, and is very anxious to do what good he can in this line of work. His many friends wish him continued con-tinued good health and success in his undertakings here. Father T. Halloran, O. P., has returned to Richfield after being in Milford during the absence of Father Valine, to resume his duties in the Richfield Parish of the Saint Elizabeth's Catholic church. Hal Fisher left Wednesday of this week for Southern California,- where he will be employed em-ployed by a blueprint company. |
