April 7th, in the home of Mi. and Mrs. Hayward Carter, grandparent;-of grandparent;-of the bridegroom. The couple was honored at a reception in the evening, and received many useful use-ful and lovely gifts. Jack and Wilden Carter have gone to Colorado, where they will be employed during the summer. Everyone enjoyed games, dancing and a nice lunch Mrs. Fontella Dotson was a week-end visitor at the Floyd Wood home. Mrs. William Richards of Gar- field has been visiting at the t homeol Mr. and Mrs. Martini Sherwood. I Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Murdock ! and Mrs. I. N. Nolder spent Sunday Sun-day and Monday visiting in Pan-guitch Pan-guitch at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Boyter. Mrs. Boy-ter Boy-ter and her children accompanied accompa-nied them home to spend a week at the Murdock home. i The Minersville Junior Red Cross received a package, the past week, from Poland. It contained con-tained many nice souvenirs, and a letter which no one as yet has been able to read. Anyone who may be able to translate it is requested re-quested to contact Mrs. Lillian McKnight. These tokens were sent to Minersville in appreciation apprecia-tion for packages the Minersville folks had sent to Poland. Among the Salt Lake Conference Confer-ence visitors are Bishop Harold Baker. Counselor and Mrs. Jule Gillins, Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Dot-son, Dot-son, and Mrs. Elmer Marshal and son Howard. The American Legion Auxiliary Auxil-iary held their first meeting last ihursday evening at the home of Mrs. Clair Carter. The first part of the evening was taken up with business discussion, after which social games were enjoyed and a delicious lunch was served by Mrs. Carter and Mrs. Vance Marshall. A group of Minersville ladies met at the Town Hall Wednesday evening, March 31, to organize an American Legion Auxiliary unit. Mrs. Ethel Nielsen of Milford, vice president of District 7, acted as initiation and installing officer. offi-cer. She was assisted in initiation initia-tion ceremonies by Mrs. Naomi Hughes, Mrs. Dora Smithson, Mrs. Jessie Frazier. Mrs Jean Hickman, and Mrs. Metta Weston, Wes-ton, all of Milford. Election of officers followed, and Mrs. Nielsen installed the followng officers to direct activities activ-ities of the group for the coming year; Mrs. Virginia Carter, president: presi-dent: Mrs. Emily Gillins. first vice president; Mrs. Connie Marshall, Mar-shall, second vice president; Mrs. Betty Marshall, secretary; Mrs. Rhonda Marshall, treasurer; Mrs. Athene Roberts, historian, Mrs. Virginia Marshall, sergeant at arms, and Mrs. Shirley Carter, chaplain. A short business meeting was held, and it was decided that the Auxiliary will order veteran-made veteran-made poppies to be sold on l oppy Day in Minersville. A vigorous campaign for members will be pushed, and it was pointed point-ed out that names of all members j who join the organization, before be-fore presentation of the charter, wil lbe inscribed upon the char-ei- as charter members |
