Show LIONS CLUB DISCUSSES ROAD Milford's Lions met in "Dutch lunch" session in the I. O. O. F. hall Thursday evening, growled their approval of a few worthwhile worth-while proposals, and enjoyed an evening of fellowship and progressive pro-gressive discussions of community commun-ity betterment. Lion Vice-President Eddie Anderson An-derson conducted the meeting, in the absence of President Ben Hillman, and introduced Dr. Herbert Her-bert B. Fowler and Donald, Watts, visitors. Main topics of discussion included in-cluded the highway situation, ' with Lion Wynaught giving his usual comprehensive report of events which had transpired since the last regular meeting, and the parking situation in the City of Milford.: Lion Joe C. Smith briefly reviewed re-viewed the educational system of the county, and pointed out that allocation of numbers of teachers teach-ers to the various schools was regulated by the state legislature. legisla-ture. Mr. Wynaught reported on a , recent trip to Baker, Nev., over Hiway -21, and urged the Lions to take any action they possibly could to secure additional wprk on 21. The hiway from the Nevada Ne-vada line to Ely is newly constructed, con-structed, arid next month will be oiled. Mr. Wynaught urged "drastic action if necessary," to gain a few more miles of oil on the Utah side of the state line. Mr. Smith called attention to the new municipal free parking lot next to the Milford State Bank, which will provide ample parking space for Milford's needs. He urged that merchants use the lot, and instruct their employes em-ployes to use it, as merchants are the worst offenders regarding , all-day parking. Mr. Smith also recommended repeal of the city two-hour parking ordinance. The Lions officially invited the Utah Slate Press Association Associa-tion to hold their fall regional meeting in Milford, as guests of the club, and a committee will be appointed, after acceptance of the offer is received, to arrange for entertainment, i |
