At first believing be-lieving the town hall twas afire, apprehension lessened considerably when it was found the blaze was confined to the truck. Frank Pryor manned a hose attached at-tached to a near-by hydrant, and with the able assistance of Newel) Marshall, they soon had the flames' extinguished, save for a small stream coming from the gas tank. Grant Wood and Clyde Evans assisted in the firefighting, with Mr. Wood risking a possible explosion explo-sion of the gas tank to crawl under the truck and shut off the flow of gas. It is thought gas thieves may have been responsible for starting the blaze. Total lack of any fire-fighting equipment was soberly noted at the town hall blaze. The need for adequate ade-quate fire-fighting equipment is great, and steps should immediately be taken to procure such safeguards safe-guards of life and property in the very near future.
