Show LIONS REPORT PROGRESS ON MAY PROGRAM After more than 30 years of untiring efforts, it apiears that Hhvay 21 is to be paved, in part at east, during the coming snm-nier, snm-nier, was the cheering report of George Jefferson, highway committee com-mittee chairman, at the regular luncheon meeting of the Milford Lions club, held in the Home Economics room of the Milford High school Thursday evening. Mr. Jefferson reported that engineers engi-neers have informed him that the survey must be completed by May 1, and paving of 21 west of Milford is to be the first project for 1917 on the highway department's program. President Evans reported that a five-county meet of civic and service serv-ice clubs is to be held early in Feb- ruary, at Richfield, to endeavor to put thru a program calling for completing com-pleting of 21 from Nevada to Colorado. Colo-rado. Four new members were introduced intro-duced to the group, and Zone Membership Mem-bership Chairman Vance Fisher congratulated the Milford club on doubling the requested quota for January membership increases. Lion E. L. Smith called attention of the group to the March of Dimes campaign now in progress, urging full support of County Chairman Fisher. The Minersville "birthday ball" will be held tomorrow (Saturday), (Satur-day), with the Milford dance slated for January 30. Lions were urged to attend both functions. President Evans announced that an Army movie, either the "Battle of the Fattops" or an invasion of a South Pacific island, will be shown in the High School auditorium, audi-torium, free of charge, this (Friday) (Fri-day) evening. The general public is cordially invited to see this stirring stir-ring film of our army in action. New members of the club are Dale Prutzman, Roy Young, Robert Berger and A. L. McDonald. Mr. Joe Mason, a visitor, was introduced intro-duced to the group. |
