Show For all Scouters University of Scouting opens here Wednesday Every registered Scouter in the Hobble Creek District will habe an opportunity to earn the right and privilege to wear the "trained" strip on their uniform. Scouters in the sixteen LDS wards in Springville and Mapleton Ma-pleton plus the Community Church may gain this strip by attending the first fully accredited ac-credited BSA University of Scouting to be conducted in the Hobble Creek District for several years and planned for November 12, 13 14, and 15 at the Springville Stake House and the Maple Dell Scout Camp. The district leadership training train-ing chairman is J. Leonard Harris assisted by Glen Tipton, Tip-ton, Harold Gividen and Cecil Zimmerman. recognized architect, will be heard by the group. Explorer faculty is made up of the following adults and young men: Mel Booth, district executive; Earl Goates, Vern Everetsen, Orem; Ken Goates, Paul Patrick and Allan Tipton. A potential minimum attendance attend-ance from each sponsiring unit of no less than twelve adults and two young men could bring the overall attendance at the University of Scouting to over two hundred Scouters. Refreshments Refresh-ments will be served at break time both Wednesday and Thursday evenings and will be handled by young ladies from the Seventh and Thirteenth Wards under the direction ot Barbara Hafen and Marilyn Crandall. Donna Ralphs and Evelyn Robbins wil lact as' registrars. A registration fee of 50 cents is assessed and is being handled by each sponsoring spon-soring unit. Scouters are urged to earn the "trained" strip and help raise the quality of Scouting Scout-ing in the Hobble Creek District. Cub Scout training Cub Scout training for Cub-masters, Cub-masters, pack committeemen, Webelos, den leaders, den mothers mo-thers and den leader coaches will be conducted on Wednesday Wednes-day and Thursday, November 12 and 13 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. Den leader coaches will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nobember 14. All sessions will be in the Springville Stake House Cultural Hall. Cubbing faculty includes John Bartholomew, Barthol-omew, Wayne Cutler, district commissioners; John BOyd, Gretta Erdmann, Lela Averett Aver-ett and Barbara Erdmann. Boy Scout leaders Boy Scout leaders training for Scoutmasters, assistants, troop committeemen, patrol dads, etc., will be conducted on Wednesday and Thursday, November 12 and 13 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. in the Junior Sunday School room at the stake house. They will wind up with an "outdoor" experience exper-ience at Camp Maple Dell Friday Fri-day evening through Saturday morning. This outdoor experience exper-ience is the phase of training that has prevented many Scouters from qualifying for their Scouters Award or key. The Scout faculty includes Fred Erickson, Byron Cott'im, Dr. Kenneth Creer, Bob Strong, Gerald Hutchings, Dean Raw-linson, Raw-linson, Otto Collings, Karl Measom, Douglas Moore, Gene Wiscombe and Dan Morgan. Explorer leaders Explorer leaders training for Ensign and Explorer advisers, associates, post committeemen and elected post presidents and vice presidents will be conducted conduc-ted Wednesday and Thursday evenings in the west priesthood priest-hood room, of the building. Wednesday's session from 7:00 to 9:00 is for the adult and elected young men leaders. Thursday's session from 7:00 to 9:00 is geared only for the adult leaders. Adult and elected leaders will join together Saturday Sat-urday morning from 8:30 to 11:30 in a workshop and seminar sem-inar where they will actually work together in developing a District Explorer program.
