Show Father of local woman dies; services today Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. in the Berg Mortuary Chapel in Provo for John Theodore Riley, 72, father fath-er of Mrs. LaVar Davies of this city, who died January 7, 1969 at the Utah Valley Hospital of a heart ailment. Mr. Riley was born November 11, 1896 in Goshen, the son of John and Margaret Halpin Riley. Ri-ley. He married Sadie Lewis March 11, 1923 in Salt Lake City. He was a World War I veteran. He farmed and also mined in Eureka and Dividend. He moved to Spanish Fork in 1933 where he was affiliated with the U. S. forest service. Later he worked as a guard at Geneva Steel until his retirement retire-ment in 1963. He was a member of Tintic Blue Lodge F and AM and a member of the American Legion. Le-gion. He is survived by his wife of Provo; his daughter, Mrs. LaVar La-Var H. (Lorraine) Davies of Springville; four grandchildren and one great grandchild; four sisters, Mrs. Stanley (Marguerite) (Marguer-ite) Waterbury, Elberta; Mrs. A. D. (Patricia) Bartholomew, k Payson; Mrs. E. E. (Madeline) Lindquist, Orem; Mrs. Kather-ine Kather-ine Wimmer of Riverside, Calif. |
