SpringviUe is a city of 9,000 population. It is particularly noted for its famous art exhibit and road building contractors. SpringviUe has a greater concentration of these contractors than any other city its size in the United States. Its chief industry consists of a cast iron pipe plant, creosote plant, extensive farming, cattle and sheep raising and fruit growing and various types of construction. A state fish and game farm is located in SpringviUe as is a federal fish hatchery. The city has several parks and recreation areas including a beautiful new golf course, and the area is served by two railroads and an airport. SpringviUe is located near the center of Utah Valley at the junction of U.S. Highways 91 and 89, 50 and 6. The scenic Wasatch Mountain Range with many recreation, hunting and fishing areas cove around the east edge of the city; the picturesque City of Ma pie ton with 2500 population adjoins SpringviUe on the south; beautiful Utah Lake is at the west.
