Show Turkey hunt in Utah April 27 Turkey hunters will soon be heading into southern Utah for the April 27 to May 13 gobbler hunt in pursuit of torn turkeys in the Ponderosa covered hills. An increased bag limit over last year to two birds should -add some incentive to the hunters and bring up the number num-ber of hunters going in the field for this second spring turkey season. All of Iron, Kane, Garfield, Sevier, Wayne and Grand counties coun-ties will be open along with parts of Washington and San Juna Counties. Legal weapons will be cen-terfire cen-terfire rifles, bow and broad-head broad-head arrows, or shotguns no larger than 10 gauge or smaller small-er than 20 guage. Allowoble shot sizes for scatterguns will be number 6 up to and including includ-ing BB. Camouflaged clothing and turkey calls are considered desirable although not mandatory manda-tory for the turkey hunters. Hunters must have their 1968 small game or combination combina-tion license and a spring turkey tur-key permit costing $3. The turkey tur-key permit allows you to hunt in any of the open areas of the state and these permits will go on sale by mail or personal per-sonal spplication at any of the Fish and Game offices April 15, 1968. The 1967 spring hunt was the first spring gobbler season held in Utah. Hunting pressure pres-sure was low, but those who went afield scored a very good 22 hunter success. Milk is outstanding in protein. pro-tein. Just two 8 ounce glasses of milk supply 30 of the daily recommendation for protein for a woman 18 to 35 years of age and about 25 of the daily recommendation for an adult man. |
