Show I O 3 Conference visitors anticipate second coming of Savior; genealogy, temple work stressed Preparing for the second coming of the Savior and the eventual establishment of the Center Stake of Zion at Jackson Jack-son County, Missouri, was the theme of remarks made by Elder El-der Alvin R. Dyer, assistant to the Council of the Twelve Apostles, at Kolob Stake quarterly quar-terly conference sessions Sunday. Sun-day. He quoted many of the recorded revelations concerning these events, and told of the recent re-cent acquisition of properties in Missouri by the LDS Church "It is the obligation of all Latter-day Saints to bear witness to the fact that the gospel has been restored, and that Zion shall be esto Wished," he said. ; Elder Dyer described mission ary work being done in the countries of Europe where he served as a mission president, and he told of interest in the gospel even in those countries behind the Iron Curtain. The importance of genealogy work i along with missionary work i was stressed. I Stake President Ernest A. Strong, Jr., who also conducted the conference sessions, spoke of the resurrection of the Savior Sav-ior and of the mission of the Prophet Joseph Smith. He told of the happiness the gospel had brought to his family through the years, and urged all to be active in the Church to gain the blessings of the gospel. Norman E. Wright, a representative repre-sentative of the Priesthood Genealogy Committee, and a teacher at Brigham Young University, Uni-versity, addressed the congregation congre-gation in the morning session concerning the many tilings yet to transpire through the power of the priesthood to bring about the immortality of man kind. Concerning genealogy geneal-ogy work he said, "The Lord expects us to do what we can with what we have," and he urged all to devote a little time to research work. Other speakers at the conference con-ference were counselors in the stake presidency, William J. Pratt and William H. Green-halgh Green-halgh Richard K. Miner, high council advisor to the genealogy program; S. Reed Bennett, home teaching executive secretary; secre-tary; Alton D. Merrill, high council advisor to the Relief Society. Music for both sessions Sunday Sun-day was furnished by the Relief Re-lief Society Singing Mothers under direction of Donna Brown and accompanied by Mary Bird. Prayers for the general sessions ses-sions were offered by Dr. Kenneth Ken-neth Brown, Vaughn Bushman, Oscar Whiting, and Erwin L. Sheffield.
