Show Heart attack takes life of fruit grower Requiem High Mass for Eg-idio Eg-idio C. (Jim) Carnesecca, 62, who died early Thursday morning, April 28, 1966, in the Utah Valley Hospital of a heart attack, was offered for the repose of the soul, Monday at 11 a.m., in the St. Francis Catholic Church, Provo. On Sunday the Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. in St. Francis Church, Provo. Following Follow-ing the Rosary the Faithful Navigator of the Fourth Degree De-gree of the Knights of Columbus Colum-bus conducted the symbolic ceremony of the presentation of the chalice to the wife of the deceased. Interment was in the Evergreen Ever-green Cemetery, following the Requiem Mass, Monday. One of the larger fruit growers in this area, he was born July 28, 1903 in Italy, a son of Joseph and Clementina Mori Carnesecca. He came with his parents to the United States in 1910, settling in Sunnyside. They moved to Ma-pleton Ma-pleton in 1914, and he had made his home there since. Mr. Carnesecca had worked hard two nights before to save their fruit from the frost and it is believed this resulted in the heart attack. He married Bernice Hansen June 26, 1941 in Salt Lake City. He and his brothers owned and operated the Hillview Fruit Farms in Mapleton. Mr. Carnesecca was a member mem-ber of the Knights of Columbus, Colum-bus, Mapleton Lions Club, a charter member of the Mapleton Maple-ton Jaycees, and a member of the Mapleton Fruitgrowers Association. As-sociation. At the time of his death he was secretary of the Timpanogos Labor Association. He was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church of Provo. Surviving are his widow of Mapleton; three sons and one daughter, Carl, Rudy and Joar Carnesecca of Mapleton; and Mrs. Roger (Marion) Marcy of Glen Falls, New York; three grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers, Frank and Joe Carnesecca of Mapleton; Mrs. Herb (Helen) Towers of Murray; Mur-ray; Mrs. Louie (Lena) DeRose of Springville; and Mrs. Clarence Clar-ence (Delia) Smith of Springville. |
