Show Services here today for Clara B. Smith Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 1 p.m., at Wheeler Mortuary, for Mrs. Clara Barlow Smith, 91 widow of Fred P. Smith, who died Saturday, April 16, 1966, at Santa Barbara, Calif., of ailments ail-ments incident to age. Bishop Melvin Haymond of the Ninth Ward will be in charge of the services. Friends may call at the mortuary today at 11 a.m., until time of the service. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Smith was born in Springville Nov. 20, 1874, a daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Eliza-beth Johnson Barlow. She was married to Fred Packard Smith, early contractor and prominent business man of this city, Dec. 24, 1894, at Provo. They resided at 155 East Center, Cen-ter, Springville, for a number of years. Mr. Smith died June 30, 1923. Shortly after the death of her husband, Mrs. Smith moved to Santa Barbara and had made her home there since, making a number of visits back to Springville over the years. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Howard (Maude) Holla-day Holla-day of Santaquin; Miss Hazel Smith, Santa Barbara. Another daughter, Mrs. J. B. Annis) Hoskins, preceded her in death. There are four grandchilden and six great grandchildren; a brother, Austin A. Barlow, Morgan and a sister, Mrs. Lizzie Liz-zie Egoff, Santa Barbara. |
