Show W";iiiihuuihii hi A- " ' L AS I ' V f I Paul Montague Gerene Cope Senior 'Student of the Week' Gerene Cope, one of two students stu-dents selected as senior students stu-dents for this week, has a spe- cial talent for writing, having served as literary editor for the yearbook and class representative repre-sentative on the paper staff and helped write and direct the Junior Prom assembly. Also, in junior high school, she wrote two opperettas. In addition, she spends sufficients time on her studies to maintain A's and B's. She has been a member of the Safety Council of the school, a member of the Thespians Thes-pians and the acappella choir. Gerene has been active in LDS Church work winning five individual in-dividual awards and serving as Junior Sunday School chorister three years. She has also been president of her MIA class and attended all meetings regularly. She will graduate this year from a 4-y ear Seminary course and has maintained an A average in this class. She enjoys cooking, sewing and of course, writing. She hopes to attend BYU and major in either eith-er elementary education or homemaking. Gerene is a daughter of Bishop and Mrs. Ray Cope, 268 So. First West. Paul Montague has been one of the busy students at the high school and at the same time has maintained an A or 3.4 average in his studies. He has participated in various assemblies, as-semblies, sung in the acappella choir and mixed chorus and played in the band. He was a football player until he broke his leg the past year and was also on the wrestling team. He took third in the region and went to state in the shot and discus last year. He is now participating in track. He will graduate from 4-years of Seminary Sem-inary this year and has won his Duty to God Award in church. He is a Life Scout and has received six individual awards. He participated from Springville Stake in the church wide music festival last year. He has played church basketball basket-ball and Softball. He is a priest in the Fifth Ward. Paul plans to attend Snow Colloge on a combined music and athletic scholarship or go to BYU and major in education. He hopes also, to fill an LDS Mission. Paul is presently employed at Allen's Super Save, and has worked at Melody Inn, Pioneer Motor Vu and for farmers about town leaving him very little liesure time. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace D. Montague, 268 South 4th East Street. |
