Show Many visitors, students tour art show school noted this week. Most ' of the paintings on exhibit are for sale and the cost of each may he secured from attendants attend-ants at the desk during visiting hours or by contacting Mr. Hansen. All members of the art association are given a ten percent discount which is one of the advantages of belonging to the art association, it is stated. Oils range from $300 to $400 and water colors from $100 to $200. The current show is said to be one of the best water color shows in the state. The art show will be open through the remainder of the month from 9 a.m., until 9 p.m. Somnone will be in attendance at-tendance at the gallery each Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Fri-day evenings to lecture on the paintings. Arrangements for group tours should however, be made with the school office. The Springville High School Art Gallery is a busy place these days with scores of clubs and other groups taking tours each afternoon and evening; with hundreds 6f individuals making visits and many, many students studying the various pictures with a view of selecting select-ing the one they like best or to get material for their art essay. In addition to the prizes given giv-en for the best oil and the best water color in the exhibit, students stu-dents have been asked to vote for their favorite picture this year and this artist will receive re-ceive a $125 prize. Each year students are asked ask-ed to write an essay on their favorite painting and the best are read in the closing art program pro-gram and the student presented present-ed with an award for his efforts. ef-forts. Each year, teachers report re-port amazement at the fine work and the amount of information infor-mation students gain from this assignment. Art queens The art queens are being presented at most school functions fun-ctions and will also be guests of honor at various events during dur-ing the remainder of the art month. Miss Gayle Whiting, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray S. Whiting of Mapleton is representing repre-senting the senior class; Joan Parker, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Norman L. Parker, represents rep-resents the junior class and Vickie Antonino, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Neno Antonino of Mapleton, is the sophomore queen.
