Show Unique setting features film at Paramount In addition to some shooting shoot-ing at Los Angeles County Hospital itself, the largest hospital hos-pital set ever seen in a motion picture was .constructed at Columbia Co-lumbia Studios for "The NEW Interns," exciting drama produced pro-duced by Robert Cohn and now at the Paramount Theatre. Thea-tre. The set, which represents one complete floor of a largo metropolitan county hospital, occupied all the available floor space of one of Columbia's largest sound stages. It consisted con-sisted of 50 rooms, including three operating r ooms, wards, private rooms, nurses' lounge, doctors' lounge, emergency admitting ad-mitting office and waiting rooms. To dress the set, Columbia rented hundreds of pieces of hospital equipment, including tables, chairs, surgical instruments instru-ments and no less than 11,375 medicine bottles. The set dressers dres-sers added a sign over the admitting ad-mitting office: "Patients Will Have to Pay Bills Before Obtaining Ob-taining Release.". One of Columbia's most important im-portant films of the year, "The NEW Interns" boasts a cast of young and exciting new stars, including Michael Callan, Dean Jones, Telly Savalas, Stefanie Powers and others.
