Show Letter to the Editor Reader writes on problem of ch!orination Dear Editor: How long must we continue to bow down to every government govern-ment agency demand? Isn't there some stopping place in giving up our freedoms? Does every agency have police powers or is this left to the police and the courts? Just what is the function of the State Board of Health? Is it a police agency or an advisory ad-visory board? Who are they, or anyone else for that matter, to say that chlorine in the water wa-ter is any better for the state of our health, than the so-called so-called contamination? All that is upon the face of the earth is for the use of man, but a proper use of these things is most important. All we can do is put forth our best efforts to overcome the problems facing us. This should still give us the right to choose what we shall do rather ra-ther than bow down to demands de-mands and threats of those who suppose that they have a little authority. These people are public servants ser-vants and have no right whatsoever what-soever to use their offices to achieve self esteem or any other glory unto themselves. If they would be great, they must be the servant of all in humility. Yes, it is important to have a good water supply. Why isn't the water just as good today as it ever was? Care has been taken to seal the springs and the wells have been drilled through rocks. Whether we have a name for good water or not is unimportant. un-important. It is important that the water is good because be-cause we have taken the time the effort and the responsibil-iy responsibil-iy to see that it is good. More important is the fact that we do these things of our own free will and choice and not because some government agency has made demands and threats. Sincerely yours Roland O. Pabst Although only 30 men of the 9th Infantry fought off 2,000 Sioux Indians in the Wagon Box Fight near Fort Kearney, Wyoming, only three casualties casual-ties were recorded. |
