Show 'Rock Hounds' schedule show Approximately 12 Springville Spring-ville members of the Timpanogos Timpan-ogos Gem and Mineral Society are assisting with preparations for their sixth annual Gem and Mineral Show at the Provo National Guard Armory, Fifth North and Second West, May 8, 9 and 10. Private collections of gems and mineral specimens, special displays, a fluorescent exhibit, guided tours and movies are scheduled at the three-day show, which draws thousands of Central Utah visitors each year. The public is invited to attend with out charge. The show will be open on Friday from 12 noon until 9 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sparkling crystals, highly polished cabachons, petrified wood and dinosaur bone, Indian In-dian artifacts, crystal-filled geodes, semi-precious gems from Utah and thewest will be among the collections which will be exhibited. More than 100 cases of private collections will be shown. In addition to the local society, orther gem and mineral societies in the state have been invited to participate par-ticipate in the exhibit. |
