Show Primary ladies at annual party A gToup of women who worked as First Ward Primary officers and teachers some , years ago, got together for their annual party Wednesday evening. Wilda Oakley was chairman, assisted by Bertha Conover, Nellie Fullmer and Helen Dallin. Mrs. Oakley welcomed the group and Aleen Lopez was emcee. The invocation was by Marie Morgan. The program began with a song by the group, led by Sadie Sa-die Hansen of Spanish Fork, with Henrietta Nelson, accompanist. accom-panist. Marie Stone gave a tribute. A skit, composed by Oralynn Ash was enacted. It was in the form of a Lawrence Welk program with Luella Wilson Wil-son announcing. Wilda Oakley gave an organ solo and Bertha Conover, Grace Richmond, Thelma Beardall and Norma Bird, in costumes and wigs portrayed the Beatles doing their numbers in pantomime with record accompaniment. Aleen Lopez and Vivian Aver-ett Aver-ett did a dance and Oralynn Ash, a reading. The program concluded with a song and games. Ida Van Leuvan was named chairman for next year with Ardith Norton, assistant; Ar-dith Ar-dith Hatfield, secretary and Margaret Wing, a committee member. Delia Dallin gave the closing prayer. In attendance besides those mentioned were, Flora Maiben, Lizzie Hodson, Afton Barker, Bernice Beardall, Ruth Sumsion, Sum-sion, LaRee Dallin, Ethel Phillips, Alta Nelson, Alta Taylor. f Mrs. Parley Madsen enjoyed a visit from her son, Clark Madsen of Menlo Park, Calif.; two days last week. He was enroute home from a business trip to Chicago. r Mr. and Mrs. Karl Bird of Salt Lake City were in Spring-ville Spring-ville Sunday visiting his par-I par-I ents, Mr. and Mrs. William I Bird and helping them cele- brate their 48th wedding an-niversary an-niversary at a family dinner. Davis represented the Springville American Legion Le-gion Auxiliary at the national president's luncheon, Thursday afternoon of last week at the Prudential Building in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Lucille Johnson John-son was the special guest and addressed more than 125 aux-lhary aux-lhary officers and members. |
