City survey shows existence of unsightly areas tractive by repairing or cleaning clean-ing it up, or if it is useless, to have it torn down. Reports will be made each week on the progress of the beautification movement in Springville. The Community Beautification Beautifica-tion Committee has just about completed a survey of unsightly unsight-ly places within the city which might be improved and among other things, this is what they found: 63 unsightly barns, some only a short distance off Main Street and housing livestock. live-stock. There were 46 other barns which should be painted and repaired; 73 vacant lots which have a weed problem; 32 va- cant lots with trash on them; 14 vacant lots with unsanitary conditions; 30 old home in need of repair; 70 trees which should be removed or pruned; 30 places which resemble junk yards with old car bodies and other debris near the house; 21 fencej in need of repair or paint and several vacant home in need of repair. These conditions were noted in 11 of 14 areas surveyed within the city and the totals are expected to increase when the survey is completed. The National Guard unit has consented to help remove unsightly barns and buildings if the owners will notify the committee.
