Show dm wmkmw I jut Committee lists member benefits; everyone urged to contribute The Springville High School Art Membership Committee of which Harrison Conover is chairman, is making a concerted concert-ed effort to enlist a majority of the citizens of this area and all others interested, as members mem-bers of the Art Association: According to . the new bylaws by-laws of the association, there are nine classes of member- ships: student member, $1; active, ac-tive, $5; family, $10; contributing contribut-ing member, $25; sustaining member, $50; commercial member, $100; life member, $100; patron, $500 and benefactor, bene-factor, $1000 and over, the latter lat-ter three in one payment and others annually. The charter life members, whose names appear on the plaque in the high school art gallery, are now charter life members, according to Omar Hansen, president of the art board. Membership benefits The membership chairman said this week that becoming-a becoming-a member of the Art Association Associa-tion gives one an opportunity to become affiliated with a cultural and educational institution insti-tution and to identify oneself with its objectives and services. ; A member of the Art Asso- j ciation may vote annually for trustees to the Association j (the annual election meeting j this year is set for April 30). ! By becoming a member, one j lends financial support to the museum's functions. Funds are needed to restore paintings and pieces of sculpture, to : maintain a year around pro- j gram of exhibits, traveling ex- hibits and others; to secure furnishings and equipment to maintain exhibits and . storage, j to insure paintings, award I prizes and pay shipping charg- ! es. among other things. ; A member, of the Art As- ; sociation, according to present plans, will receive certain services as a newsletter informing in-forming him of the museum's activities, special events, new additions to the gallery and other items. As funds are received with which to work, benefits to association as-sociation members will be enlarged. en-larged. Future plans of the Art Association, As-sociation, include employment of a full-time curator or director di-rector at the museum. Members of the Membership Committee are working out plans whereby everyone will be contacted for memberships. In the meantime, all who desire to boost the art movement in Springville and assist in the initial step to place it on a sound financial basis in which the entire community is interested, inter-ested, should contact committee commit-tee members as follows: Harrison Har-rison Conover, A. I. Tippetts, Wilbur Snelson, Helen Wright, Inez . Chader, Harold Whiting, Rell Francis, Margaret Conover, Con-over, Dr. Richard K. Miner, Alberta Hoover. Attendants at the desk at the Art Building have receipt books and will take memberships member-ships at any time from visitors. The four types expected to be most popular, are- individual memberships for $5; family memberships for $10; sustaining, sustain-ing, $25 and life, $100. |
