Show Program slated at observatory "Lions in the Sky," the March program at Southern Utah State College's Ashcroft Observatory, Ob-servatory, will pay tribute to the movies "Star Wars" and "The Empire Strikes Back." Programs begin , at 7 and 8:30 p.m. each Friday and Saturday evening at the college observatory which was built largely through donations in honor of former SUSC professor Theron M. Ashcroft. All observatory programs are free. Special showings, also free of charge, can be arranged by calling David H. Menke, observatory ob-servatory director, at 586-. 586-. 1409. 'Ijons in the Sky" will include slides from the two science fiction movies along with accompanying ac-companying sound tracks. Special thanks go to Buena Vista Records, Burbank, Calif., , Dr. Menke said, for the program material. Along with the music and slide presentation, observatory visitors will ; have the opportunity if skies are clear to view select astronomical objects, including the planets Jupiter and Saturn which are especially prominent in the winter sky. The Ashcroft Observatory Ob-servatory is located southwest of Cedar City on Highway 56. Highway signs clearly mark the way. |
