Show 6A Different Mirror Film series-set sociology. The third film, Ingmar Bergman's "The Seventh Seal,", will be shown March 11. James Harrison, assistant professor of German, will serve as commentator with panel members David Lee; Eugene Woolf, professor of philosophy,; and Robert G. Young. The theme for the 1956 release is Man, Death and God. "The Garden of the Finzi-Continis," a Vit-torio Vit-torio de Sica film released in 1971, will be shown March 13. Dr. Young will serve as commentator with panel members Jim Aton, instructor of English, Virginia Stitt and Morgan Williams. The humanistic theme for the movie is Decadence and Will. Werner Herzog's 1974 film "Every Man for Himself and God Against All" will be shown March 23. Man Alone is the movie theme which will be discussed by commentator Jim Aton and SUSC panelists S. S. Moorty, associate professor of English; James Harrison and Sarah Solberg. The series concludes March 25 with Lina Wetmueller's "Love and Anarchy" which was released in 1975. Political Man is the theme being discussed by Eugene Woolf as commentator, and panelists Jim Aton, David Lee and Robert G. Young. The film-discussion series "A Different Mirror: Human Themes in European Cinema" begins Friday at Southern Utah State College with the French film "Beauty and the Beast." Funded through a $1,000 grant from the Utah Endowment for the Humanities and assistance from the ASSUSC Senate, the film series has been developed by Robert G. Young, assistant professor of history, and SUSC theater arts student Rick ' Domihguez, Las Vegas. Each program will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Thorley Recital Hall. There will be no charge for the series and the public is encouraged to attend. "Prior to the showing of each film a brief , commentary will be given," Dr. Young said. "After the film ends, a panel discussion will be held to stimulate an informal in-formal dialogue about the movie with the audience." The series continues with three films next week and ends, after a break for winter quarter finals, with two additional ad-ditional films the week of March 22. Gary M. Mclntyre, chairman of the SUSC Department of Communication-Theater Arts, will give the commentary Friday for Jean Coc-teau's Coc-teau's "Beauty and the Beast" which was released in 1946. SUSC faculty members Glen Dale Anderson, associate professor of' art; David Lee, chairman of the SUSC English Department; and Jim Mills, assistant professor of French will discuss Human Love - Fantasy and Reality. Dr. Mills will serve as commentator Monday for the second film, Jean Renoir's "Rules of the Game." Humanity and Society will be discussed by panel members Sarah Solberg, instructor of English; Virginia Stitt, instructor of music; and Morgan J. Williams, associate professor of |
