Show New Castle By NORMA CHR1STENSEN Record Correspondent Darwin Hulet and daughter, Mrs. Darla Reber, traveled to Las Vegas where they visited at the home of another daughter, Mr. and Mrs. George ( Janeen) Birkby. They brought Janeen's three boys home with them for a weeks visit while their parents were moving to a new home. Janeen, came up this week to take the boys home. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Jones and family, and Jeannie's mother, Mrs. Lucille Bonner, traveled to southern California for a weeks vacation. They enjoyed many attractions there, including Disneyland. Bishop Normand Laub was a patient in the Valley View Medical Center this past week for acute appendicitis. Complications prolonged his stay there but he is recuperating very well now. Lee Hulet, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hulet, was also operated on for appendicitis last week. There seems to be an epidemic in our area. Kirk Tullis and little daughter Jennifer, have moved down from Orem and will live for a time with his mother, Mrs. Mildred Tullis, while he goes to school at SUSC. The mutual girls enjoyed en-joyed a couple of days of skiing and snowmobiling at Brian Head last week, accompanied by their advisors, Mrs. Belva Gardner, Mrs. Janice Woods and Mrs, Edith Day. The annual scout banquet was held Thursday night in , the ward cultural hall. Proceeding the banquet was a court of honor in which 20 boys received over 100 awards, advancements ad-vancements and merit badges. Our very active scout troop is under the direction of Clayton Bracken. Jared Holt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Holt, was the 9-year-old winner of the One-on-One basketball contest here and in Panguitch. They traveled to Logan last week where Jared competed statewide. He didn't win there but they agreed it was a good experience. |
