V Parowan's first annual Winter Carnival will feature I Snowmobile Drag Races as 1 the highlight of the big two I fun -filled days, but there is ' much more for everybody, I according to Chamber of Commerce President Bill I Mainor and Brenda Adams. The Winter Carnival will kick off on Friday evening, Dec. 18 with a dance at Parowan Par-owan High Gym from 8-10 p.m. with nostalgic music by , the Paragonah Orchestra. I Then from 10:30 p.m. to 1:00 I a.m. the "Souled Cut" will ! play contemporary music for the second round of dancing. ' Refreshments will be avail- able. ' On Saturday, Dec. 19th, the Snowmobile Drag Races will ' get started with Tech Starts ) at 9:00 a.m. and races at 10:30 a.m.. There will be j ABC modified and a Ladies . Powder Puff plus trophies, ! food and fun. An entry blank , is elsewhere in the COUNTY f NEWS and are available at i sporting goods stores from I Las Vegas to Salt Lake City. I At 3:00 p.m. there will be I movies for the children at ' the Parowan High Audl- I torium with Santa to visit ' the children immediately I after the movies, with good ies for eyery bov and Edrl. I A gala festival will start at 2:30 p.m.lntheStudentCom- mons and halls of Parowan A home decoration contest will bring recognition to the top three winners, and merchants mer-chants are encouraged to decorate their store fronts and the trees onMainStreet. Mrs. Adams said, "We hope that everyone will get into the ChristmasSpiritand make Parowan's Winter Carnival an enjoyable and fun filled event." Don't forget the dates, Dec. 18 and 19. High. Booths rented by clubs will sell homemade wares, antiques, handcrafted items, homemade candy, baked goods and canned goods. Prices start at a nickle and you can have your purchase wrapped for Christmas. "My idea of a Parowan Winter Carnival" is the subject sub-ject for an essay contest, and there will be tree decorating dec-orating contests, and much more. |
