Show Parooon liofcno to nolf eourso plans Two golf course proposals were discussed with the Par -owan City Council Nov. 18th, as Mayor Rex Emenegger and Steve Williams of Brian Head discussed a possible joint venture between the two cities. Emenegger said Brian Head still favors going ahead with an improvement district, jointly with Paro-wan Paro-wan to obtain funding for construction of a municipal golf course east of the fair grounds. Mr. Dick Harris and Stan Sorenson of Heart Realty made a presentation of their . plans for a proposed Golden Eagle Ranch subdivision near the south 1-15 Freeway Free-way interchange. The subdivision sub-division would Include a nine -hole golf course,tennis courts,lodging facilities, a four acre public park, a working 200 acre horse ranch and a 20-acre parcel divided into four acre home -sites. Sorenson proposed a joint venture with the City of Parowan for the ' golf course, under the following conditions. Summit Associates would donate 40 acres of land and 100 acre feet of water for the golf course. Parowan City would build and maintain the golf course. The Golden Eagle Ranch would be annexed into Parowan Paro-wan City. Mayor Robinson ' told the representatives of Heart Realty that the Council Coun-cil will consider their proposal, pro-posal, but not to expect an early decision. Mayor Emenegger stated that Brian Head was in no way involved with the Golden Eagle Ranch proposal, and that Brian Head favors the fairgrounds area for a golf course. He urged Parowan City to initiate action to acquire additional private land In the fairgounds area to go along with that already owned by the city. The Council went on' record in favor of a new fire truck and authorized Fire Chief Albert Orton to take steps to find appropriate funding. Mrs. Brenda Adams and Bill Mainor discussed plans for the Winter Carnival. The Council authorized $500 to help finance the Winter Carnival. |
