Show FTi WHERE THE HEART IS Ik fcifgj By ELLEN BURCH - i I've been told that successful people are ones who j were in the right place at the right time with the right ; answer. Their success may be financial andor per- ; sonal contentment with their lives. j But, personally, I think they just recognized "Op- ! portunity" when she knocked on their door. i That's a very difficult thing to do. Sometimes she's j subtle and elusive, sometimes apparent and demanding : attention. The bottom line may very well be the abili- j ty to make decisions ones that will change our life- styles dramatically. When there's time to weigh the pros and cons of a decision, we become so much more confident that we're doing the right thing. ' But those " Instant decisions" we really fret over i those, sometimes causing "Opportunity" to slip through j our fingers. . , j At least, I have the tendency to debate the Issue with j myself until there is no longer any reason for the de- j bate the opportunity is gone. i Once in a great while an offer comes along and there's no question about It. It's right. That's what happened when I interviewed for the job at the County News. If the i job was for me, then I was for the job. An instant decl- i sion was made one day and I was moving the next. From a Volunteer in the Park at Bryce Canyon to a "green" ! Business Manager for a newspaper that's quite a j change. ' Although "green" I'm eager to learn and hope you will 1 have patience with me as I get acquainted with you and my new job. Red has his work cut out for him during the next few weeks training mel So If he seems to be under a little extra pressure, I'm at the heart of his dilemna. ' I'd like to express my appreciation to the people of Milford who helped me find a place to live in such a short time. I'm pleased and grateful for the warmth of your welcome. A special thanks to Janet and Marion Walker who have treated me as "family". Their hospitality has helped to make my move possible'. At last, "I" was In the right place at the right time with the right answer. When "Opportunity" knocks on your door 3e ready to answer! , A wonderful feeling SUCCESS! ; i How does one measure the feeling of success? i Everyone has his own yardstick, would be my guess. I For some, I'm sure, It would be personal wealth, j While others are happy with contentment and health. Sometimes the feeling becomes our unseen guide, While doing our work with individual pride. Success can come slipping In on quiet feet, j Radiating to all those we chance to meet. - - v No matter how yott personally measure, The feeling of 'success' is something to treasure! |
