Show Folk Life FoGtiuol The fifth Annual Southern Utah Folklife Festival will be held in Zion National park, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, September 10-12. The festival focuses on the unique folklife of Utah'sDlx-ie Utah'sDlx-ie which grew out of the desert des-ert and mountain landscape. Crafts people will demonstrate demon-strate skills mastered by early Utah pioneers, such as leather braiding, spinning and weaving, the use of textile tex-tile dyes from local vegetation, vege-tation, whittlers, tatters and soap makers will explain their processes. Festival visitors can also enjoy fortune for-tune tellers, water witches, and story tellers, or be entertained en-tertained by groups of local musicians. Southern Paiute Indian demonstrations, games and music will be presented. Daytime activities will be-in be-in at 10 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. Evening entertainment will be in the O.C. Tanner Ampitheater in Springdale. Southern Utah's GrandOle Opry, will be the festival finale Saturday evening. |
