Show NOTICE FLU VACCINE AVAILABLE AT HEALTH DEPARTMENT What is Infuenza ("Flu")? It is an illness caused by influenza in-fluenza viruses. It generally affects people of all ages. Usually people with influenza have fever, chills, headache, cough, and muscle aches and may be sick for several days to a wfjek or so. Most people recover fully. A small proportion pro-portion of cases are particularly particu-larly severe, and patients may develop pneumonia or other complications. In some past epidemics, about one case out of every thousand was fatal. The risk of complications comp-lications and death from influenza in-fluenza is highest for people with chronic health problems like diabetes; diseasesof the heart, lungs, or kidneys; severe anemia; or chronic illnesses (or medications) which lower the body's res-: res-: sistance to Infection. It is ! also high for older persons generally -particularly those about 65 years old or older. ! Vaccine for the elderly people 65 years or older or j having a high risk condition can obtain vaccine for $2.00 each. Others requesting flu shots can get them for $4.00. Vaccine will be available on the first Tuesday of each month in Beaver at the courthouse court-house and the second Tuesday Tues-day of each month in Miners -vllle at the Post Office and Milford at the Hospital, at regular immunization time.
