Show 3 fori Imicusfrid Mi A letter from Governor Matheson informed the City Council Monday evening that their grant of $75,000 for the Milford Industrial Park has been approved by the Four Corners Regional Commission, and that additional addi-tional funding from the Economic Development Administration Ad-ministration should be approved ap-proved very soon. Recorder Bacon read a letter of intent from Jay Gardner, of Utah Power and Light, stating that they are interested in acquiring ten acres in the Milford Industrial In-dustrial Park for future use in conjunction with their local lo-cal distribution, and construction con-struction of geothermal power facilities. The letter will be included in the application appli-cation for funding from EDA. The FCRC grant is a supplemental supple-mental grant, and the major portion of funding will come from EDA. The city ap proved bond sales in an election elec-tion last spring for matching money. There was considerable discussion over the wording of the airport contract, before be-fore it was finally decided that everyone understood what was meant. On motion by Swain, the contract was awarded to Lillian Cook, who has been managing the airport air-port for several years. They also agreed to raise the hangar rent to $35. per month. Mayor Young reported that the Impact Assistance Board will meet December 11, to consider funding Mllford's water project. Discussion ensued over how much water should be required of developers, and whether it should be requir- ed at the time of annexation annexa-tion or when the property is subdivided. The subdivision ordinance provides for the city to require re-quire water or compensation compensa-tion for water at the time of development. However, there is concern because it leaves to the Council to set the specific requirement, which in the past has been overlooked. Council seems to feel that a certain amount of water should be required for each unit of housing and other kinds of industry. And that the petitioner should be aware that water will be required when he annexes the property. However, it's generally gen-erally felt that to require water with annexation on property that may not be developed de-veloped for several years, could hamper growth to the community.
