Show DALE E. NELSON Sheriff Dale Nelson, age 51, passed away September 8, 1980, in Beaver, of suffocation, suf-focation, while attempting a rescue in the line of Duty as Beaver County Sheriff. Born December 10, 1928, in Thermopolis, Wyoming, to Theodore Roosevelt and Elsie Pearl Mullendor Nelson. Nel-son. Married Patricia Ann Carter in Minersville, on September 19, 1957. Later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. Dale served in the Air Force for 23 years as Electronic Elec-tronic Technician, and re- I tired In 1969. He was one of the initial technicians to I work on the SR-71 Aircraft. , He began his Law Enforce -ment Career in 1970 as a Beaver County Deputy Sheriff. Sher-iff. He was elected as Beaver Bea-ver County Sheriff as a write in candidate in 1972, and has served honorably in that office of-fice for six years. , He was a First Degree Mason; graduate of the Utah Peace Officer's Academy in 1972; FBI Academy in 1975; and was a member of the LDS Church. Survivors: Wife, of Bea- ' ver; Daughters, Mrs. Chris (Tammy) Wood, of Cedar ' City; Jill, and son, Tim, of , Beaver. Father and Stepmother, Step-mother, Thermopolis; Sis- i ter, Mrs. Frank (Florence) Drnjevic, and Brother, Theodore Robert Nelson, both of Elliston, Montana. Funeral Services were held September 11, 1980, in the Beaver 3rd4th Ward. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery, with full Military Rites. Funeral Directors, ' Olpin Mortuary, Beaver. SHELDON H. ROBERTS ; Sheldon Heap Roberts, age 49, died September 8, 1980 in Beaver. He was born January 28, 1931, in Paro-wan Paro-wan to Leonard W. and Wanda Lillian Heap Roberts. He married Jessie Marie Walker Walk-er March 9, 1954, in the St. George LDS Temple. He served in the military during the . Korean War. Graduate of BHS 1949. Sheldon Shel-don was presently serving as Bishop of the Beaver First Ward. He has served in the Beaver Stake High , Council. He has been in the dairy business for 25 years. He is survived by his wife: Jessie, 1 son and 3 daughters; daugh-ters; John, Mrs. James (Shelley) Brown, Mrs. Kelly Kel-ly (Emmaline) Stapley, Melinda, all of Beaver. His Mother, Mrs. Wanda Roberts Rob-erts also, of Beaver. Two brothers and 4 sisters: sis-ters: Floyd H. , Parowan,; C. Gordon, Beaver; Mrs. N. Lee (LaW ana) Hess, Sunland, CA; Mrs. Gaeth (Eileen) Sherratt, Cedar City; Mrs. Dean (Marilyn) Brown, of Beaver andMrs.Ray (Carma Ainsworth, Porterville,CA. Funeral services were held September 11, 1980 in the Beaver First Ward LDS Chapel. Interment was in the Mt. View Cemetery under the direction of the Metcalf Campbell Mortuary. |
