Show OBITUARY Chase Hatch Murdock, 64, of Beaver, died January 7, 1980 in a Salt Lake City hospital. Born January 11, 1915 in Beaver to George C. Murdock, Mur-dock, Jr. and Kate Hatch Murdock. Married Lucille Rogers Barlow, August 7, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a lifelong life-long resident of Beaver. A High Priest. He served a mission to the Central States. His various callings call-ings Included Bishop's Coun -selor, Bishop, Beaver Stake Clerk. He was the Stake Historical Clerk at the time of his death. He fulfilled numerous other Priesthood and Auxiliary callings. He . attended the public schools in Beaver, participating in drama, music, and athletics. ath-letics. Played basketball basket-ball for BAC (SUSC) and also attended BYU and U of U. Avid sports fan with a great love for basketball and tennis. Business and com -munity leader. Owner and operator of Foodtown and Murdock Oil. Dealer and distributor for Texaco. Long member Associated Food Stores, Past president of the Beaver Lions Club. Former For-mer member and chief Beaver Volunteer Fire Department. De-partment. Past chairman of Beaver County Republican Party. Involved in the Five County Organization. Member Mem-ber Utah State Historical Society. Well known as a local historian. Loyal supporter sup-porter of community and civic ci-vic activities. Survivors: wife, Beaver; children, Judith M. and Gary F. Chamberlalnj VirginlaM. ; and C. Reed Willy ard, both i Midvale; Robert C. and Adele Murdock, Beaver; Craig B. and Christina Murdock, of Tooele; 13 grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. E. Franklin (Kathryn) Helser, Van Werf, Ohio; Mrs. Clark W. (Carol) Smith, Beaver. Precededed In death by two brothers, a -sister, one granddaughter. Funeral services January 11, 1980 in the Beaver Third Ward. Burial Mountain View Cemetery, Beaver, under the direction of Metcalf-Camp-bell Mortuary. |
