But Friday Fri-day they took an early lead, and though Milford made several runs at them, the Rams hung on for a 59-51 lead, in the first league game of the season. Jeff Atkin led all scorers with 11 of 24 field goals and 5 of 6 from the line Ofor 27 points, but he was the only Tiger in double figures as Parowan had Cooper with 23, Thornton 20 and Ben-sen Ben-sen 9. ' The Rams shot 35 percent from, the floor to 26 percent I for Milford, but the Tigers had a 65-46 percent irom the line, hitting 15 of 23 free tosses. The Tigers led In only one other statistic with 63 rebounds to 58 for Parowan. Turnovers were costly for both teams with Milford giving the ball up 19 times to 16 for theRams. The Tigers were never out of it though, until the final minutes, and should get things together as the season progresses. Ball handling remains their number num-ber one problem, which is mainlv experience. They should come around the last half of the season. - ; But this week they are in for a rough go of it as they travel to powerhouse Beaver on Friday and then entertain 2 -A Hurricane on Saturday. |
