Show Meeting to air xM horso removal plan A public meeting has been scheduled in Cedar City by the Bureau of Land Management Manage-ment to discuss and accept public comment on modifications modifi-cations to the Sulphur Wild Horse Removal Plan that was presented in draft form in March of this year. The meeting will be held September 26, at 7:00 p.m. in the conference room of the BUM District Office, 1579 North Main. Stan Adams, Wild Horse Specialist, will review the contents of the removal plan and discuss the changes. The major change will be the use of helicopters in rounding ud horses. This change was necessitated by the abundance of water in areas where the BLM had originally planned to trap the horses around scattered waterholes said Jensen. The number of horses to be removed and other elements of the plan have remained unchanged. Actual removal of the wild horses is planned for sometime some-time this fall. The removal must be accomplished while the horses are in top condition. con-dition. The condition of the horses deteriorates in the winter and the mares have their foals in the spring. The roundups must be completed before these times. |
