Show Lightning strikes employees Scott Tolman and Gordon Nelson, employees of the State Fish Hatchery at Beaver, had a close call Thursday afternoon. Tolman reported that he and Nelson were cleaning the fish screens at the Hatchery when they suddenly found themselves them-selves 'out cold' and flat on the ground. "Something went through my body and I felt myself falling," Tolman continued. "I don't know how long I was unconscious. When I came to Gordon was sitting on the ground nearby with his head in his hands. He had also been knocked out. A rake he had been carrying was found quite a distance away." "We realized we had been hit by - or at least come very close - to lightning! We were both wearing hip-high hip-high rubber boots at the time. I know that's what saved us." Both men were well but shaky after the incident. |
