Show rSDH Feedback Red, I commend you for the great job you are doing. I commend the Reunion Committee Com-mittee for a highlight in my life. I commend all those . people of Milford who have stayed and made it a better place to live. Sincerely, J. Ray Baker Editor: ; "DONT TREAD ON US!" It's time the Feds got off our back! They have oppres -sed the Western States for nearly 100 years one bureaucracy or another. They have kept the control of the public lands within federal control in the west for the express purpose of the control of the people. They are controlling us economically in the 13 Western Wes-tern States the same as England Eng-land tried to control the original ori-ginal 13 colonies. A new frontier has always attracted those of the most free and independent spirits. This is the type of people who settled the 13 original colonies and the same settled set-tled these Western States because be-cause this was the last frontier. fron-tier. Now we're telling the bureaucrats like SamuelAd-ams SamuelAd-ams did England, GET OFF OUR BACK! We wil accept ac-cept no Federal Land Use Planning as we told at the polls. It's quickly comingto the point where the Feds are going to have to get out of Utah or Utah will have to get out of the U.S. There was a conference of the WesternStates county of- Dear Red: When I recall the Reunion of the '30's a month ago in Milford I once again go into that feeling of euphoria that comes from having truly enjoyed an outstanding experience. ex-perience. It was good to be back in the old home town, which on close inspection looked better than it ever has before, and rub elbows with old classmates, who on the whole looked better than I expected. "Skinny" Fisher, my old buddy, and his wife, Gladys looked great. I had not seen them in 42 years. "Fat" Outzen, I had seen' in recent years and he looks better all the time. Some of my old girl friends made me ; wonder why I came to Call - fornia to find a bride. My I deer hunting buddies haven't ; changed a bit, but of course, j I haven't either. Forty years is somehow a i short time when I look back ! and remember the night Jack Weston and my brother, Thel, and Fat Outzen led the j kids on that Halloween romp. When we turned the town upside up-side down. I've always felt half-bad about popping out all the lights on the theatre marquee with the seat of the old water wagon that we pulled pull-ed down the sidewalk and parked in front of the show house. I thought the rescue res-cue of Fat Patterson from Teddy Kronholm's old Er-skine Er-skine bys my brother while Teddy was chasing Jack Weston was better than the time he stole the biggest watermelon in Minersville. "Memories." Red, I'm sorry I didn't get to talk to you, we spent a lot of time with my cousin, cou-sin, Janet, and her husband, Marion "Murphy's Law" Walker. To me he is a real example of a fellow who is helping the City. I know he occasionally makes a mistake, mis-take, like when he backed into the driveway with a flat tire and nearly tore the plumbing loose from my trailer, but he keeps trying. His good wife, Janet, has to be one of the choice people to do as much as she does and still keep Marion in line. Milford has some fine people, peo-ple, the best. We played the Milford golf course on a very hot day and enjoyed it. It isn't Escon-dido Escon-dido Country Club, but it has possibilities. The town needs it. It needs the town's support. Somewhere there has to be a spark of pride in every Milford citizen that says, "This is a great little lit-tle town and the golf course will make it even better." ficials just held at which 432 officials from the 13 West-tern West-tern States attended. They called for a vote on the removal re-moval of the BLM from the 13 Western States. The results: 430 for removal, 2 opposed. I hope the Feds don't miss the point, "DON'T TREAD ON US!"
