Show Etoprty Hones i$!iiG fa Wn The total property tax rate imposed for city, county, school, and other purposes in Milford declined by 4.04 mills this year, according to an analysis prepared by Utah Foundation, the private tax research organization. Beaver's taxes declined only 1.04 mills. Milford's overall property tax levy in 1977 is 82.04 mills ($82.04 per $1,000 assessed as-sessed valuation). This com - in 1977, a rise 6F3.02 mills or 4. Foundation analysts emphasize empha-size that a substantial part of this increase in school levies resulted from the "phasing-in" of levies that were temporarily lowered when these districts were reappraised under the continuing con-tinuing assessment program. Under Utah law, operating levies for school purposes are reduced when reappraised reapprais-ed valuations are first placed on the tax rolls. These reductions re-ductions are phased back in over a three -year period. According to the Foundation Founda-tion study, no new counties were reappraised in 1977. As a result, there were no further reductions in school levies this year resulting from the revaluation program. pro-gram. The Foundation report indicates that 24.4 of the property tax collected in Milford will go for municipal purposes, 1 1.4 for county purposes, and 6.1 for special district purposes. In Beaver approximately 71.27 of total property taxes will go for school purposes. The Foundation report indicates in-dicates that 14.66 of the property tax collected in Beaver will go for municipal munici-pal purposes, and 14.06 for county purposes. The Foundatin examination examina-tion of 1977 mill rates imposed im-posed in the 69 largest cities of the state reveals that the overall property tax rate increased in 49 cities, declined de-clined slightly in 17 cities, and remained unchanged in 3 cities.
