Show Just Between You And Me yJ Jt$ "Red" Wilson Wouldn't you believe it? BLM turned down an offer by some cowboys from Delta to round-up some wild broncs for free. Their reason rea-son the regulations say they've got to hire the job done. That's a prime difference between the bureaucratic agencies, and private industry. indus-try. Private industry can and will take advantage of a windfall wind-fall when it comes along the bureaucrats follow the rule book no matter what the cost. - 0 -There's so many stupid things like the above, going on in Washington and around the country that a feller hardly has time to eat for writing letters of protest. Like the feller said, if we didn't have enough trouble at home, we have to go pokin' around the rest of the world, to see what we can get into. - 0 - This canal thing is just another CFR scheme to destroy des-troy the super -powers, so they can form their one world government. Carter's got so many CFR (Council on Foreign Relations) and Tri -Lateral Commission members on his staff, that this administration administra-tion looks a lot like the Ford administration or Nixon's, Johnson's and Kennedy's 0 - How any thinking man could believe we owe the Panamanians anything, we don't understand. The canal zone has been the backbone of the economy of Panama since 1902. It never would have been built without U. S. ingenuity in-genuity and money. Add to that the subsidy, without wheh the canal would be as profitable as the Post Office and who else but the U.S. would want it. Certainly, the Panamanians Panaman-ians don't want it without a U. S. subsidy. -0- But if we give the canal to Panama because it's a relic of our imperializatlon, then where do we stop? The thirteen original colonies are about the only thing we started with, and we took them from England. The Louisiana Purchase from the French, California and parts of the southwest from the Spanish, Texas from Mexico, Mexi-co, Alaska from Russia, and other assorted spots that Canada and other countries at one time laid claim. o But did you see where Alaska is under seige? The bureaucrats want to lay claim to fully ninety percent of it. Our own Canyonlands and Glen Canyon Nat'l. Recreation Recrea-tion Area are threatened. The bureaucrats want to create vast wilderness areas. If they don't achieve (Continued on Page 2) HERE'S MORE ABOUT Just Between that designation byCongress, they'll call it a natural area by administrative procedures proce-dures of the Interior Dept., and have basically the same effect. -0- We did win one, though. The Old Woman meteorite, found and claimed by a couple cou-ple of California miners, will be returned to California. The BLM grabbed it under the 'Antiquities Act'- and toted it off (with the help of the Army) to the Smithsonian Smith-sonian Museum. Andrus has decided it belongs be-longs in California, where both state and private suits have been filed for its return. re-turn. Ridiculous as it seems, the prospectors who found it and staked the claim have all but been forgotten, and probably will be after the meteorite is returned. But it is legally theirs under the . Mining Law of 1872. ; 0 "We've read your Beautiful Beauti-ful Person stories and would like to have you add our Grandpa DAN FERGUSON, to your list of beautiful people. peo-ple.
