Sunday, Clarence and Wanda served a family dinner in honor of Clarence's birthday. Present were La-Berta La-Berta and Martha Richardson Richard-son of Logandale, Nev., Yvonne Gressman of Calif., Clair and Helen Corbridge and two daughters of Cedar City, Carl and Wanda Rogers and five children of Las Vegas. During the afternoon Keith and Carol Lemon and two daughters and Marshall and Nellie Hollingshead visited vis-ited with them. Lois Carter has been a patient in the Beaver Hospital Hospi-tal where she had major surgery. sur-gery. Anna Rae Carter has been a patient also for ten days, receiving treatment for a bad back. She has been in trantinn fn rpliavo thp home here to spend the winter win-ter months in Salt Lake with her children. Her grandson Ray of Diamond, Wyo. and also BlaneandEmmaSidwell came to move her. She will first stay at the home of Ray and Louise Crane and fam -ily in Wyoming. The balance of the winter will be spent with other children. Wendy Carter, daughter of Allen and Jean Carter, celebrated cele-brated her 10th birthday on Sept. 8th with a party for her friends. Allen Carter of Denver, Colo, was here for a few days visiting with his wife, Jean and children. Keith andShirley Hollingshead Hollings-head spent a few days in Salt Lake visiting their children and in Springville and Spanish Span-ish Fork with their brothers and sisters. Grant and Ruth Wood and children of Kearns were home visiting with their parents, par-ents, Floyd and Beulah Wood, over Labor Day. Aletha Gillins and grandson grand-son Rickey were in Kearns and Midvale visiting relatives rela-tives during the week. Delbert and Effie Jameson Jame-son were in Salt Lake for three or four days during the week to attend the Justice Jus-tice of Peace Seminar. They also attended the State Fair and Holiday on Ice and the Jim Nabors show at the State Fair. They visited their son Allen and family, also. The Literary Club held their meeting at the home of Nettie Myers with Lois Pier-son Pier-son as co-hostess. Pres. Phyllis Truman was in charge. Reva Albrecht gave the interest to women items and Marie Marshall gave the book report, "The Waltz Kings", life of Johann Strauss and his sons. Delicious Deli-cious refreshments were served by the hostesses to the members present. Lorin and Lucille Goff went i FAMILIAR INDIAN WRITINGS: Most railroad men will recognize these Indian writings on a flat rock south of tunnel five between Escalante and Las Vegas. Few, how ever, have ever seen the writings this close up, or other than from a speeding train. The rock has five deer or goats painted on it, along with other markings. pain and to help the healing process. Thursday evening Don and Neta Carter were there from Salt Lake, Ned and Susan of Jackson HolWyo., Frank and Betty Decker of Parowan, Carol Carter, Glen Canyon, Ted and Dorothy Carter of Minersville. All enjoyed a family supper with their parents. Alba Carter visited in ' Stockton for a week with her children, Ted Gressman and family and Bill and La Von Edwards and family. Fontella Dotson of Salt Lake visited over the weekend week-end with her son, Pete and daughter-in-law Pat Dotson and family. Marie Marshall and Susan Albrecht attended the funeral funer-al of Clarence Kirkham in Cedar City Monday. The ladies are cousins of "Kirk" Kirkham. Armina Banks has left her |
