X , j , TOM WALKER DON QUIXOTE AWARD GIVEN TO TOM WALKER For fighting battles not his own, Tom Walker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Walker, Milford, was given the Don Quixote Award at a banquet in Salt Lake City. The dinner, held at the Rodeway Inn in Salt Lake C ity on Sept. 12, was for those who valiantly work with the handicapped in Utah. Tom teaches the retarded children in Cedar City, helping help-ing youngsters from all over Southern Utah who come to Cedar Ctiy to attend the classes. He has been amoving amov-ing force behind the Special Olympics. Tom is a graduate of Milford Mil-ford High School, and earned his Bachelors Degree in Psychology Psy-chology from SUSC. He works summers as assistant manager of the Town and Country Restaurant. He was a manager at Bryce Canyon for two summers and resident resi-dent director of Auston College Col-lege in Sherman, Texas. He is also active in scouting, serving as leader of the Venture Explorer Scouts in Cedar City. |
