Show HORSEMEN GROW' IN NUMBERS One of the fastest growing 4-H projects care to guess? Ifs the national 4-H horse program, pro-gram, currently reporting over enc-quarter million members! And why, in this age ofindus-trialized ofindus-trialized - computerized fast living should the horse be so popular with youth? Well, there's many reasons according to the Cooperative Extension Service, which supervises 4-H, and Merck and Company, Inc. which sponsors the 4-H horse piogram. Kids from rural areas the suburbs and small towns, and even the metropolitan areas, are enrolling to participate parti-cipate in horse shows, judging contests, trail rides and to simply sim-ply learn how to care for and handle an animal. Those who own horses not a requirement require-ment of the project take turns letting the other youths practice their horsemanship so everyone learns.
