Show DR. FRED COTTRELL IS HONORED IN OHIO W. Fred Cottrell, professor at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio has been named Ohio's outstanding out-standing older American and received special recognition at the White House Conference on Aging. Mr. Cottrell moved to Mil-ford Mil-ford in 1905 at the age of .2. His father came to Milford then when the old Southern Utah Railroad was extended to L.A. and became part of the LA and SL. He was among the first to attend Milford High School and went on to Westminister West-minister College i.n Salt Lake. He received his PhD. in 1930 from Stanford. Jobs were pretty scarce then, and out of 55 job applications he received an offer from Miami Mi-ami U in Oxford. He and his wife moved there in 1930 for a couple of years and they are still there 41 years later. Mr. Cottrell still figures he is a Westerner and get out this way as often as possible. He spent several days in Milford last August visiting his sister, Mrs. Joe (Myrtle) Tribole, and sister-in-law, Mrs. Roy (Bertha) CottrelL |
