Show VARSITY DROPS TWO; LEAGUE OPENER FRIDAY The long road stretch has been costly in the Tiger won and lost column as the MHS squad bowed to two good teams thin past weekend. Coach Eades will have to tighten his belt and get tough this Friday when the Tigers open the league schedule at Beaver against their cross county rivals. The Tigers have lost four out of their first six starts, but have showed a balanced attack and should give a good account of theirselves in their own league. Delta proved to be a little tough for the Tigers Friday night as the Rabbits jumped to a 22-7 lead in the first quarter quar-ter and lead by twenty, 37-17 at the half. In the final half the Tigers began to come on and gained a little ground on the Rabbits, but at the buzzer the sere was Rabbits 74 Milford Mil-ford 57. Milford showed a good balance bal-ance in scoring with their five starters all in double figures. Richards, Elmer and Beniah all hit for 12 with Winn racking rack-ing up 11 and Robert Edwards 10. Adams of Delta hit 22 for game high while the Rabbits Jensen dumped 17. The story was much the same at Lincoln County, Nev. on Saturday Sat-urday with the Nevadans taking tak-ing an early lead of 19-8 at the quarter. The Tigers held their own in the second quarter. 26-37, 26-37, but faded in the second half to lose by 24 points, 79-55. Lee of Line. Co. was high for the game with 37, with the Tigers Tig-ers Elmer hitting for 19 and Robt. Edwards 18. Lopez and Campbell from Line. Co. hit 12 and 10 respectively. The Tiger squad was forced to borrow a Delta School Bus Friday Night in order to get home, after vandals ice picked three tires on the Milford bus. |
