J ..-:;) All-Stater Wain Mecham All-Stater Kevin Hanley Beaver County Places 8 On Ail-State Honor Roll Kevin Hanley, Ken Bailey and Robert Edwards each got the .nod in the Deseret News Alj Region Eight Team. Milford managed two of th?ir 1971 footballers on the Salt Lake Tribune's defensive team. Wai.n Mecham earned a tackle spot and Kevin Hanley, defensive defen-sive encl. The State Champion Beavers place five on the Tribune's offensive of-fensive first team and one on defense. Mitch Gillins, QB; Garth Draper. FB, Garth was a'so named the Class A Most Valuable Player; Jeff Smith. End: Rr.ndall Lee. T; and Chris Eyre, G. Blake Gillies won a defrnsive guard KDot. Other Region Eight players to get the Tribune nod were Bob Ramsey, H3, Kanab; Joe Houston, CB; Arlyn Brown, LB; and Robert Chavez, T, all of Kaab. The . Deseret News picked just the best all-around player for each position instead of an offense and defense. Milford didn't, , place anybody on either the first or second team.
