OWENS SAYS MAY LIFT CONTROLS ON M-44 COYOTE KILLER Current restrictions on the M-44 coyote control device may be lifted by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), according ac-cording to Rep. Wayne Owens (D -Utah). "For the first time since sodium so-dium cyanide was removed from the market, the EPA is soliciting soli-citing public comment on the Issue" said Owens. The M-44 is a spring loaded mechanism which injects a pellet pel-let of sodium cyanide into the mouth of a coyote, triggering the device. According to Federal Fed-eral law, the M-44, which utilizes ut-ilizes sodium cyanide, must be registered with the EPA before be-fore it can be sold in interstate commerce.
